Pamunkey tribal member Captola Cook poses for the photographer Frank G. Speck sometime around 1910 in an unknown location. Speck (1881–1950) was a native of New York and a professor of anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he specialized in Algonquian and Iroquoian tribes in the eastern United States and Canada.
