Description

These ground stone discoidals, some of which have holes through their centers, were found at a Late Woodland site in Henry County in the southern Piedmont. They may have been used to play chunkey, a traditional game involving stone throwing. One stone in the set has punctuated marks arranged in a concentric ring design. (Photo enhanced)
